The Irish IT consultant is among those who have complained that Apple’s latest smartphone offering, the iPhone X, is less secure than the previous generation of devices.
The new iPhones are expected to be available to buy in September.
But a few IT consultants say the software they are using to set up and maintain their own computer networks is no match for the security of the latest generation of smartphones.
The latest iPhones have a feature called Cloud Gate which allows users to run their own private network through a centralised computer.
The feature, which is available on the latest models of the iPhone, Android and Windows 10, allows a user to create a virtual private network (VPN) between themselves and the rest of the world.
It’s a feature which, according to many IT consultants, is far too weak to protect their network from hackers.
The Irish IT industry has also been in turmoil recently, with the company Apple reportedly having its Irish operations shut down by regulators in Ireland.
Last month, a new Irish IT expert revealed that a large part of his company’s infrastructure, which was being run in Dublin, had been compromised.
